Rumor has it that an Apple MacBook Air update could take the world’s best laptops to the next level.
It seems that the world’s best laptop MacBook Air will undergo a major update in 2022.
According to reports, Apple plans to include a Mini LED display on their devices. This latest news comes from an Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who provided us with some early insights about Apple’s plan.
Early indications pointed to the fact that Mini-LED would feature in the MacBook Air in 2022.
A DigiTimes report earlier this year also suggested that Apple would introduce Mini-LED in most of its products, fueling these rumors.
What is mini LED?
This is a display technology that helps reduce the number of LEDs on an LCD screen. You, therefore, end up getting brighter, sharper images, and deeper darker tones.
Due to this contrast increase, the quality of mini LEDs gets closer to OLED, but without the downside of the OLEDs which is the burn-in where a faint image is left on the screen.
Even though the Mini LED has become of regular use on TVs, Apple has managed to introduce it successfully to its iPad Pro 12.9 (2021). This display technology really benefited the iPad. Taking this same tech to MacBooks brings even more excitement.
Why is this important?
Rumors about the MacBook Air 2022 are interesting, and if just half of them are true, this will result in an impressive MacBook Air.
As it is currently, this MacBook offers outstanding performance, battery life, and value for money. We imagine that the 2022 version can only be better.
Not only does the impressive mini LED display set the MacBook Air apart from many of its competitors, but it’s rumored that major overhauls, such as the thin bezels surrounding the display, will change the overall look of the laptop.
We love the MacBook Air (M1, 2020), but our biggest complaint about it is the poor design.
As the new iMac (24-inch, 2021) shows, Apple does not fear doing complete design overhauls on its gadgets. We expect a similar trend with this new development, bringing forth a new design for the MacBook Air.
We also expect it to be supported by a more powerful follow-up product of the M1 chip (probably M2).
Increased power, coupled with a modern new look and Mini LED screen, would make the world’s best laptop even better. We can’t wait to see what comes out.
