League of Legends System Requirements: What You Need to Run the Game

League of Legends is a MOBA (stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game that is known for its heavy use of strategy, teamwork, and fast-paced gameplay. Simply put, it is a game where players control powerful champions and battle against the opposing team in an attempt to destroy the enemy’s nexus.

Good thing here is, you do not need ultra high-end system to run it without any issue. However, in case your PC is getting some performance issue, we can suggest recommendations to you.

Minimum System Requirements to Run (30 FPS)

As per Riot Game, the bare minimum system requirements to play the League of Legends game is:

  • RAM: 2 GB
  • CPU: 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or better
  • Screen resolutions up to 1920×1200
  • Radeon HD 2400, or comparable, with 256MB RAM
  • Broadband Internet connection (at least 500 Kbps down and upload)
  • Windows 7, 8 or 10

In terms of video memory(RAM), the minimum is 2GB, but ideally, the game performs best with 4 GB of VRAM. As for CPU, the minimum requirement is that it should be a 2.4 or better Intel Pentium 4 processor. The recommended CPU is an Intel i5-760 or similar AMD Phenom II if you want to play LOL with lower pings.

Recommended System Requirements (60 FPS)

The recommended specs for running League of Legends are a bit more complex. This is because a higher processing power or better RAM memory can help you run the game at higher frame rates and better graphics.

According to their official site, a GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Radeon HD 6870 graphics card is needed in order to play League of Legends at the best settings.

A CPU from Intel Core i3 2100 3.1GHz, AMD Phenom II X4 810 2. 6GHz or higher is also needed in order to have smooth gameplay. 8 GB of RAM also needs to be installed for smoother gameplay.

The free disk space required is about 12 GB, and a monitor that supports high definition resolution should be used since it supports 1080p resolution.

In addition to the above, you also need a reliable broadband internet connection with a minimum download speed of at least 500 Kbps/sec. Also, a 64-bit operating system such as Windows 7 is required.

High-End PC Requirements

If you want to play the game in maximum graphics settings and only at a high frame rate, then you might be interested to know that the following are the recommended specifications for doing so:

Intel Core i5-4670 CPU with 2.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 equivalent processor or better

8GB RAM or higher – 8 GBRam is the most important thing here in order to run smooth gameplay, without much issue. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon HD 7950 with 3GB VRAM or better

A monitor that supports at least 1080P resolution. Also, a reliable broadband internet connection with a minimum download speed of at least 500 Kbps/sec is required. A 64-bit operating system such as Windows 7 is also needed for smoother gameplay.

Keep in mind that all of the above are recommended specifications and not requirements. If you have higher-end PC, you can still play the game at maximum settings without any issue.

Also, it is important to have a high-speed internet connection to play League of Legends since it will help in synchronizing players from all over the world.

FAQs

Is 4GB RAM enough for League of Legends?

The answer here is yes, but we would still recommend a minimum of 8GB RAM for smoother gaming experience. You can still play League of Legends with 4 GB RAM, but you might not enjoy it as much. This is because the game can use as much as 3GB of VRAM for running and if you have less than that, it will affect your frames per second.

Can you play LoL without a graphics card?

You cannot play League of Legends without a graphics card unless you are running some sort of emulator. The game uses the graphics card for visual elements and without it, you will not be able to see any of its content. Having said that, you can use your integrated Intel HD graphics chip for playing the game, but you might not be able to play as smoothly as possible.

Can Core i3 or i5 run League of Legends?

Even though an i3 is enough to run League of Legends, it is not recommended because its performance is not as good as a 2.4 GHz with higher processor speed. With the Core i3, you will experience some frame drops here and there whereas, with a better CPU, you will be able to run the game at a smooth pace.

How many GB is LoL PC?

League of Legends is not very heavy and does not need much space to be installed on your PC. However, you need at least 12GB of free disk space in order to install the game. Any more than this will be useless since it can help with smoother gameplay or extra content that might come in future patches.

How many GB is Garena?

Garena is the game client and is a separate application that needs to be installed in order to play LoL. The size of this application varies with each new update and currently, the latest version requires around 100MB of free space.

Can I run League of Legends with 1GB RAM?

Yes, you can run League of Legends with only 1GB of RAM but you will probably experience low frames per second. The game is not very heavy and should run smoothly with as low as 512MB RAM. However, we would still recommend that you have at least 2 GB RAM for a better gameplay experience.

Which Systems Can Run LOL

League of Legends is not very heavy and should be able to run on most laptops with at least 2 GB RAM. However, you will need a decent processor to get optimum performance.

Intel or AMD processor with a core speed of at least 1.2 GHz and 1GB RAM will be good for getting the best gameplay experience. Anything lower than that will result in low frame rates and lags here and there.

We highly recommend the Acer Aspire E E5-575G-57D4 for LoL. This laptop has a powerful graphics card and a strong processor. It also features 8GB RAM that can be further upgraded to 16GB. The full gaming experience will be yours with this laptop.

But if you’re into Mac, then the Macbook Air is one of the best LOL laptops for you. Or if you’re looking for something with a little more power but still lightweight, then we’d recommend the Macbook Pro 13-inch.

Wrap Up

To summarize, LoL is a free-to-play fantasy game that lets you experiment with various different characters. The gameplay is interesting, competitive, and addictive.

Older versions of the game can be run without any issues by selecting low settings but if you want to experience what modern LoL has to offer, then make sure your PC is up to date with a powerful graphics card and processor.
