Don’t think your laptop processor can be as powerful as a desktop processor? Well, the Intel i7-1195G7 might have something to say about that.
If recent Geekbench 5 performance reports are to be believed, the i7-1195G7 processor has seen a huge performance jump.
In case you didn’t know the i7-1195G7 is an 11th generation Intel Core also codenamed Tiger Lake laptop CPU and its single-core benchmark ratings have been raising eyebrows all over.
While the processor has been specifically designed for thin, lightweight laptops, its benchmark scores, as reported by VideoCardz, put it at par with many of the desktop processors as far as single-core performance is concerned.
In fact, the processor is even capable of giving the likes of AMD Ryzen 9 5950X a run for its money.
So what are these eye-popping scores?
Well, the GeekBench 5 score for the Intel Core i7-1195G7 vary between 1,662 and 1,700 with the average being around 1,680. This puts it head to head with Intel’s Rocket Lake series and AMD’s popular Ryzen 5000 desktop processors.
These scores were recorded with a maximum frequency of 4,987 MHz which is much higher than the base frequency of 2.89 GHz
This means the laptops were put under much higher pressure than you would normally while working or even gaming at home (reaching this frequency required quite a bit of power).
So why do that?
This is mainly to test the limits of the processor.
These results sure make the i7-1195G7 an impressive piece of technology that is even going to give the new 12th Gen Adler Lake processors a run for their money. These new processors are expected to be released at the end of 2021.
And if you are eager to know how well they will score on the benchmark tests, stay tuned for updates.
